Discover Es Figueral beach and the islet of Tagomago

Es Figueral beach stands out for its fine sand, stunning scenery and unique views of the Tagomago islet, one of Ibiza’s jewels, known for its biodiversity. It’s perfect for escaping from the daily routine, enjoying the peace and quiet or, if you prefer, enjoying a day at the beach with the family.

We’ll tell you all about this beach so that you don’t miss out on anything. We really hope that you’ll enjoy it!

Es Figueral: a beach with a friendly family atmosphere

This extensive cove of fine sand is located 4 kilometres from Sant Carles and about 15 from Santa Eulària. The beach, which boasts an impressive landscape made from full cliffs and pine forests, is divided into two distinct parts, both separated by an islet and a sandy stretch.

It’s a beach with a family atmosphere, perfect for children and with a wide variety of services, including: lifeguards, sun lounger and parasol hire, beach bars, access for people with reduced mobility, and water sports centres, amongst many others. Also, very close to the beach you’ll find hotels, flats, shops, businesses and restaurants. Amongst the latter, El Chiringuito Las Dalias, Cala Boix or Feel Ibiza are only some of them.

It’s also an excellent beach for scuba diving or snorkelling, through which you will discover an exceptional marine ecosystem. The beach is quite extensive, contrary to popular belief, and its name comes from the fields of fig trees that fill the cove’s surroundings.

Tagomago Islet

One of the aspects that will attract your attention the most in Es Figueral is the unmistakable silhouette of the islet of Tagomago, a small island which, together with the islands of Sa Conillera and Es Vedrà, is one of Ibiza’s most important treasures.

It’s an island just over 100 metres high, not very mountainous and characteristic for its large number of cliffs and small coves of wild nature. Inside, you’ll find a spectacular mansion belonging to the company of German businessman Matthias Kühn, as well as a beach club and a lighthouse.

This islet of great ecological value has a wealth of flora and is an important refuge for migratory birds, such as the Eleonora falcon and yellow-legged gulls, among many others.

Although this islet is considered by many to be private property, you should know that it’s possible to disembark and move freely around the islet, except for the private area that hosts the businessman's house.

How do you get to Es Figueral?

Es Figueral beach is easily accessible. You can get there by car, bicycle or even by regular bus. If you’re going for the last option, make sure to check the bus schedules since these can be quite restrictive.

If you do it by car, you have to get to Sant Carles and take the road heading north. After approximately 4 kilometres, you will come to a fairly large car park, where you can park your vehicle and reach the beach from there. Don't miss out on the opportunity to discover one of the beaches with the best views of Ibiza.
