Heading to Ibiza: how much does it cost to travel to the island?

If you are planning your trip to Ibiza, it’s important that you take into account many aspects, including your budget. Although it’s possible that your pockets are full with bills, usually and unfortunately, this isn’t the case.

That's why having a clear idea of the approximate cost of transport or accommodation in Ibiza will help you organise your getaway to the island of Ibiza. Want to know more? Don't miss out on the details below!

Flights to Ibiza

The island of Ibiza has an airport which is located in the south. To give you an idea, it’s about 8 kilometres from the centre of Ibiza town, 4 kilometres from Playa d'en Bossa and about 25 kilometres from Sant Antoni.

Therefore, flying is a good option, allowing you to reach Ibiza comfortably and fairly quickly. Also, from the airport itself you will have the option of taking different means of transport to reach the different areas of the island, be they buses, taxis or private transport services.

As for flight prices to Ibiza, these can vary considerably, mainly depending on the company and the dates. During the summer months, prices shoot up quite a lot. If you don't mind travelling outside the peak months, you can find flights to Ibiza for around 50 euros or even less.

How much does it cost to get to Ibiza by ferry?

If you want to travel to Ibiza from Barcelona, Valencia or Denia, a good alternative is to travel by ferry. There are several companies that offer this service. You can choose between different options and timetables, travel with your own car, and also enjoy a wide variety of services on board. It’s a good option particularly if you’re planning to stay in Ibiza town, given that the ferries arrive at the port of Ibiza, close to the historic centre.

As with flights, the ferry prices also vary depending on whether you are travelling in high or low season, ranging from 35 or 40 euros to 60 or 65 euros. These can also be considerably higher if you’re travelling with your car, booking a cabin to sleep in, etc.

If you need to travel from Ibiza to Formentera and vice versa, at Aquabus Ferry Boats we offer a regular fast ferry service between the two islands. This is without a doubt a comfortable and affordable option, and we'd be delighted to have you on board!

Accommodation prices in Ibiza

If you’re organising your trip to Ibiza, you should also take into account the price of your accommodation on the island. This will depend on the type of accommodation in question and, especially, on the season in which you decide to stay.

Ibiza has a wide range of accommodations on offer, with an infinite number of hotels of different rates, flats, aparthotels, rural houses and agritourism.

If you’re travelling as a couple, perhaps your best option is to stay in a hotel. On the other hand, if you’re travelling with your family or group of friends, staying in a flat or an aparthotel will be a more comfortable and possibly cheaper option.

For those who want to get to know the more rural areas of Ibiza, the best option is undoubtedly to stay in an agrotourism or rural hotel.

What are the prices? From 60 euros to hundreds or even thousands; it will depend on the number of days, the hotel ranking, its services...

In any case, your stay in Ibiza will definitely be hard to forget, so get ready to make the most of it!
