  1. Formentera not always has been populated, for long periods it was a desert island, and currently the only way to get there is by ferry from Ibiza.
  2. When you get to Formentera you will see that the water is very clear. It’s not exclusive to the Caribbean beaches, here we also could see water pure like this. The reason that makes Formentera beaches have these properties is due to an alga that is responsible for cleaning the water.
  3. Where does the name Pitiusas come from? Well you must noticed we call like this to the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. This name comes from the Greek “pitys” and it was used to refer to them by their abundance of pine in this islands, therefore it means “pine forest”.
  4. The French writer Jules Verne wrote in one of his works about Formentera and La Mola Lighthouse, that’s why there is a monument to the close to the lighthouse.
  5. La Mola welcomes every year a craft fair where we can enjoy besides buying musicians, puppet shows, etc.
